2nd Annual George Ohlandt Memorial 5K Run / 1 Mile Walk: 10/23 11AM

The Second Annual George Ohlandt Memorial 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk will take place on Sunday, October 23rd at the Teaneck Knights of Columbus located at 829 Windsor Road, just off of Cedar Lane. The run, sponsored by the Teaneck Policemen's Benevolent Association, will benefit the Ohlandt family and the Teaneck Armory Family Assistance Center.

Registration opens at 9:30 AM. The 1 Mile Walk / Fun Run starts at 10:30 AM and the 5K Run at 11:00 AM. Refreshments and an awards ceremony will follow. Fees are $18 pre-entry with long sleeve shirt; $16 USATF Members (5K only); $20 post-entry with long sleeve shirt (while supplies last). This event is being held in memory of George Ohlandt: On July 12, 2004, Teaneck Police Officer George Ohlandt was diagnosed with liver cancer. Tragically, on August 13, 2004 George lost his life to the disease. George is survived by his wife Linda and their two sons, Matthew and Christopher, ages 8 and 4. George had been a Teaneck Police Officer for the last nine years. Prior to joining the Teaneck Police Department, he was a Corrections Officer with the Bergen County Sheriffs Department. George served the community with compassion and dedication, helping those in their times of need. In George's memory, the Teaneck PBA has established the "George Ohlandt Memorial Run". Amenities include No Online Process Fees, Brunch Buffet, Beer on Tap, Refreshments, Long Sleeve Shirts and a Raffle. Awards for the 5K race will be given to the Top 3 overall male / female; Top 3 in each age group male / female and the Top 3 Teams (Police, Fire, EMS, Teaneck Organizations, Hospital). Age Groups for the 5K are 14 & under, 15-18, 19-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+. The 5K is run as part of the USA Track & Field New Jersey Grand Prix: 500 points.
