Teaneck High School Daily Sports Schedule for 9/17

Among other events, the Teaneck High School Highwaymen kick off their 2005 football season against highly ranked St. Joseph, hoping to avenge a drubbing in last year's season opener. As reported in the Around the league: football item in the Sports section of today's Record, "No. 2 St. Joseph (1-0) at No. 25 Teaneck (0-0) - The Highwaymen had trouble matching the physical play of Elizabeth and North Bergen in scrimmages. The Green Knights have a game under their belt, even another advantage for one of North Jersey's top teams. The edge: St. Joseph."

* Enthusiasticly encourage your own team. * Refrain from abusive or imitating remarks and booing. * Accept the decision of officials with good grace. * Don't endanger the safety and comfort of players or other spectators, for example, by throwing objects. * All trouble-provoking noisemakers, signs and banners should be avoided. * Present your student identification when requesting student privelege. * At basketball games, silence is requested while a player is shooting a foul. * Any person obviously and intentionally violating the code will be subject to ejection from the event.
