Puffin Heart of Labor Film Series"Blue Vinyl":9/15 7PM
On Thursday, September 15th, at 7:00 PM, the Puffin Cultural Forum's Heart of Labor Film Series presents "Blue Vinyl," winner of the Cinematography Award at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival and a featured broadcast on HBO.
"Blue Vinyl" is the 2002 documentary directed by Judith Helfand and Daniel B. Gold. The film runs 98 minutes and has not been rated by the Motion Picture Association of America. See http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0303307/ for more about the film.
"Blue Vinyl" follows the toxic life cycle of polyvinyl chloride from its manufacture in Venice, Italy to the siding of director Judith Helfand's parents' home in Long Island. This humorous and poignant film asks the question: Is it possible to create a product that causes no harm at any point in it's life cycle? This program is free and open to the public.
