FDU Men's Soccer Ranked Nationally in Top 10

The undefeated Fairleigh Dickinson University men's soccer team (4-0-0) moved into the top-ten among college soccer programs in the NSCAA/adidas National Rankings Top 25, announced on Tuesday. The Knights jumped from No. 12 last week to No. 7 and are first in the Middle Atlantic Region. The complete release can be viewed at http://www.nscaa.com.

In the Soccer America Top 25 Poll the Knights moved from No. 21 to No. 18, also released on September 12th (http://www.socceramerica.com). In the Soccer Times Top 25 Poll, released Tuesday, the Knights moved from 22nd to 17th. The complete release can be seen at http://www.soccertimes.com.

The Knights are undefeated after opening the season with wins over ACC opponent Boston College, Big East foe Villanova, Big Ten member University of Wisconsin and Horizon League opponent University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. At the UWM Tournament this past weekend, the Knights defeated the Badgers 1-0 on an own goal with Tomer Chencinski (Thornhill, Ontario) earning the shutout on Friday with five saves between the posts.

The Northeast Conference Brine/Rookie of the Week Yannick Rome Gosselin (St. Jean sur Richelieu/Polyvalente Armand Racicot) scored twice, including the unassisted game-winner off a breakaway three minutes into overtime, to lift the Knights to a 2-1 win over the Panthers on Sunday. Donny Mayard (Laval, Canada) and Pino Tubito (East Hanover, NJ) were named to the All-Tournament and Rome Gosselin was named Tournament MVP.

The Knights were also ranked 17th in the College Soccer News Top 30 National Poll, jumping five spots from their ranking of 22 last week. The complete release can be seen at http://www.collegesoccernews.com.

The Knights are back in action at the Princeton Tournament, where they will face Loyola (Maryland) at 5:00 PM on Friday, September 16th and host Princeton at 2:30 PM on Sunday, September 18th.
