Flood Relief Concert for Habitat for Humanity: 10/26 8PM

On Wednesday, October 26th, at 8:00 PM, Cedar Lane Cinemas in Teaneck will host a Flood Relief Concert featuring Classical and Jazz musicians from Bergen County. All tickets sales and donations go to Habitat for Humanity for the rebuilding of Louisiana, Mississippi and other places of need and Pakistan and Guatemala.

Musicians who will perform include Englewinds, Leonia Chamber Musicians, the Brewer Ensemble, Tomoko Ohno, piano; Tim Horner, percussion; Rufus Reid, bass; Lauren Hooker, vocals and more. The program of classical and jazz will feature music by C.P.E. Bach, J.S. Bach, Sarah Davol, Tomoko Ohno, Tim Horner, and a world premier by Monte Morgenstern written for wind trio for the event.

Tickets are $25 and will be available in advance at Cedar Lane Cinemas during theater hours or at the door on the evening of the concert. Checks for tickets or donations should be made out to Habitat for Humanity. On the memo, indicate Flood Relief and state or area preferred. Cedar Lane Cinemas are located at 503 Cedar Lane in Teaneck.

"If you read the biographies of each of the musicians involved in this event, you would say, 'Wow, such distinguished careers, and they live right here in Bergen County', said Sarah Davol, Director of Englewinds, and one of the organizers of the event. "The caliber of musicians is very high." The concert features the Cinema's 3-manual organ, Louisiana ragtime music, as well as original Classical and Jazz compositions including a premiere for wind trio written by Monte Morgenstern for the event.
