Billy Talen & The Stop Shopping Choir at Puffin: 10/15 8PM

On Saturday, October 15th, at 8:00 PM, the Puffin Cultural Forum presents The Reverend Billy Talen & the Stop Shopping Gospel Choir will perform their 'exorcism' of the consumerism demon. Activist / exorcist, veteran of campaigns against Starbucks, Walmart, and the Disney Store comes to the Puffin stage with his mighty choir. $5.00 suggested donation.

As reported in a full-page article in the Go! section of today's Record, "Talen's Obie Award-winning revival show features credit card exorcisms, the rejection of logos, gospel singing and raging sermons. His choir is comprised of 25 singers - everyone from former Starbucks employees to actors, students and artists. While he plays places like the Puffin Forum - where he is welcome — he's played plenty of places in the past seven years where he most certainly was not. A court order has banned him from coming within 250 yards of any of the 1,481 Starbucks franchises in California, and a memo was reportedly issued to all Starbucks employees titled, 'What should I do if the Rev.
